Vladimir Alenko became the new head coach of Iran men’s national team

The Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF) has confirmed the appointment of former Russian men’s team head coach Vladimir Alekno as the new head coach of Iran men’s national team.

The 53-year-old coach, who is the 2012 London Olympics gold medalist as the head coach of the Russia Men’s National Team and head coach of Russian champions team Zenit Kazan, will lead the Iran Men’s team at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League and 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. Alenko will replace Montenegrin Igor Kolaković, who parted ways with IRIVF in March.
