The 2017 Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup is the 16th edition of the annual women’s volleyball tournament. Two cities, Lima and Cañete, in Peru host the tournament from 17 June to 25 June. Twelve teams competes in the tournament: Pool A included Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, United States and Venezulea. Pool B included Canada, Chile, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Peru and Trinidad and Tobago.
After 5 matches of the Preliminary round, USA and Dominican Republic dominated in their group with a perfect 5-0 win record. Both teams will direct advance to the semi-finals. The 2nd and 3rd place of each pool will fight for another two seats of the semifinals. On 23 June, Puerto Rico will play against Cuba while host team Peru will compete with Argentina.
In the previous 16 editions, Dominican Republic won 4 golds, 7 silvers and 3 bronze medals. USA won 4 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronze medals. Cuba also won 4 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in history.
