Turkey may replace China to host FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League 2020

In the latest interview with Akif Üstündağ, the president of Turkish Volleyball Association, revealed that Turkey is going to host the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League if the Coronavirus outbreak prevails in China still.

The tournament which is set to start in May will take place in six Chinese cities including Tianjin, Ningbo, Jiangmen, Hong Kong, Macau and Nanjing. “We are very much concerned about the development of the Coronavirus outbreak in China. As one of the world class volleyball countries, Turkey has a track record of hosting many large scale international tournaments successfully,” said Üstündağ.

Intent has been shown to FIVB that Turkey wishes to render assistance to host the Final round if the Nanjing leg is called out due to the uncertain epidemic situation. FIVB welcomes the offer according to Üstündağ. He pleaded FIVB to make the decision shortly as the outbreak continues and the country is confident to host the tournament with great success.
