Thailand’s Supreme VC clinched their first ever continental champions title

Thailand’s Supreme VC defeated Japan’s Hisamitsu Springs in 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13) and clinched their first ever Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan.

Supreme VC overpowered Hisamitsu by their quick middle attacks and supreme attack by their spikers Fatou Diouck (23 points) and Chatchu-on Moksri (17 points).

China’s Tianjin Bohai Bank bagged the bronze medal by winning 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20) against Kazakhstan’s Altay VC. Middle blocker Zhang Xiaoting scored 20 points, with captain Chen Liyi scoring another 18 points. Altay VC’s hitter Yunieska Robles bested all scorers in the match with 28 points.

Chinese Taipei’s Taiwan Power defeated Iran’s Sarmayeh Bank 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-20, 25-12) to earn the fifth place in the competition.

As Asian champions, Thailand’s Supreme VC have earned a ticket to compete in the 2018 edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.
