Russian Cup 2017: Kazan, Uralochka, Proton and Enisey at Final Four

The preliminary stage of Russian Cup (Women’s) 2017 was finished on 3 Nov. Four pools in Saratov, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk and Ekaterinburg,16 teams (including 10 representatives of the Super League and six clubs of the Major League A)  compete for the four seats in the final round. The winners of each pools go to the Final Four which will take place on 23 and 24 December 2017. Dinamo Kazan, Uralochka NTMK, Proton Saratov and Enisey Krasnoyarsk are qualified to the Final Four.

The results of Pool 1 in Saratov was quite unexpected. Host team Proton Saratov led by their new head coach, Yuri Marichev (former head coach of women’s national team) defeated the favorite team Dinamo Moscow in 3-2 on 2 Nov. Proton continued to win over Samrau UGNTU Ufa in 3:0 on 3 Nov and got three victories in a row and became the winner of the pool.

Ranking:  1.Enisey Krasnoyarsk, 2.Severyanka Cherepovets, 3. Zarechie Odintsovo, 4.Lipetsk-Indesit

Pool 4 (in Ekaterinburg)
