The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has lifted its three-year suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee. This means Russian athletes are now expected to be eligible for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, provided they pass anti-doping checks.
The IOC hasn’t decided yet if Russia can use its national flag, colors, or anthem. Also, Russia is still banned from hosting any international competitions
How about Volleyball?
After the announcement of IOC, the FIVB Administrative Council has lifted all restrictions, allowing Russian athletes to compete internationally once again.
Their world ranking and frozen points have already been fully restored. Russia men’s team ranked No. 3 while Women’s team ranked No. 9. It’s time! CEV still have not announced their decision yet.
In fact, the FIVB has already allowed Russian youth teams back into competition. It is believed that the Russian adult team will soon be back to the world stage.
