Gold Medalist of 2012 London Olympic, the 42 years old Russian legendary player Sergey Tetyukhin announced his retirement.
“This is my last season, that is, I only have to spend a few matches. Hang shoes, or, in my case, sneakers, you need on time. I think the moment has come. It’s time to leave and give the youth the opportunity to develop peacefully.
Besides the Gold in London Olympic, Sergey Tetyukhin also won the silver of the Olympic Games in Sydney, as well as bronze in Athens and Beijing. In addition, Tetyukhin also won three-time silver and two-time bronze medalist of European championships, two-time World Cup winner, champion and multiple prize-winner of the World League.
At the club level, Sergey has played for Belogorie Belgorod, Dynamo-Tattransgaz, Zenit Kazan and Italian club Parma. He won ten times in the championship and the Cup of Russia, four times won the Champions League and once – the club world championship.
