We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brazilian Olympic Champion Walewska Oliveira. She was not only revered as an Olympic champion but also hailed as one of the greatest athletes of our time. At 43 years old, she leaves behind a loving marriage but no children.
Walewska made an incredible impact on the sport, notably winning an Olympic gold medal at the Beijing Games in 2008. She achieved numerous accolades throughout her esteemed career in European volleyball. A true force both on and off the court, Walewska was a vital member of the Dentil/Praia Clube team from Uberlândia-MG until her retirement last year.
