Nikolay Karpol wants to set the Guinness record of longest length of a coaching career

Vice president of Russian Volleyball Federation, the legendary coach of Russia national team and club Uralochka-NTMK, Nikolay Karpol in a recent interview, admitted that he would like to set the record of longest length of a coaching career. on May 1, he turned 79 years old.

“I tell you frankly, if I have enough health, I still wanted to work for three more years. One Canadian coach worked from 1900 to 1950 in the NHL, in sports, it’s Guinness record. This year is my 48th year of coaching, I want to break the record!”- quoted Karpol on TASS.

The coach also comments about the upcoming Yeltsin Cup in Ekaterinburg. “The favorite team of Yeltsin Cup, of course will be the team of Russia. Although the silver medalist of the Olympic 2016- Serbia will participate, and Turkey is also a very strong team; our team is favorite here. We’ll see how the team perform, it is still a beginning. There will be difficulties in the preparation, but we have good players, experienced coach, I think everything will be fine.” said Karpol on TASS.
