Reigning Olympic champions Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst of Germany won their third major Beach Volleyball crown on 5 August afternoon as the Germans captured a three-set victory over Lauren Fendrick and April Ross of the United States in the gold medal match at the 2017 FIVB World Championships.
In the bronze medal match, top-seeded Talita Antunes and Larissa Franca of Brazil posted a 2-1 (21-12, 16-21, 18-16) win in 59 minutes over seventh-seeded Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan of Canada.
