Jaqueline steps down from national team of Brazil

One of the most successful players in the Brazilian women’s volleyball team,  Jaqueline Carvalho, 34, has revealed that she will no longer play for the Brazilian national team.

According to her latest Instagram post, the player said she intends to dedicate herself to “new projects” and to the family.
“I want to accompany my little one, who is growing rapidly, more closely. It was 18 years of great love and dedication to the Brazilian team. They have given me many memories, joys and friendships that I will carry throughout my life. I thank the entire team and technical staff for their years of support, care and professionalism, “said Jaqueline.

The decision is surprising because weeks ago, she played for the team in the final round of Volleyball Nations League in Nanjing, China. It will definitely a great loss to the country as World Championship will take place two months later that this is the title Brazil has not claimed yet. Recall that Brazil lost to Russia in the finals in 2006 and 2010 in five sets.

For her country Brazil, Jaqueline not only won the gold in Beijing 2008 but also was key to the victory in London Olympics 2012.

Jaqueline also has five Grand Prix titles, a Champions Cup and three medals in World Championships (two silver in 2006 and 2010 and bronze in 2014).
