Terrible news for Italy: setter Ofelia Malinov suffered from a serious injury during the friendly match which Italy beat Azerbaijan by 3 sets to 0 (25-18, 25-23, 26-24). During the match, Malinov twisted her ankle and left the court. Further investigations have reported that she was suffered from a fractured right ankle that required plaster immobilization.
Italian head coach Davide Mazzanti immediately summoned the young setter Carlota Cambi to the player’s list. Italy will plays the European Championship in Azerbaijan and Georgia from 22 September to 1 October, we hope Ofelia gets well soon!!!
