FIVB proposes revolutionary changes in the rules of competition

Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) is going to test the new scoring system in the competition, according to Globo Esporte.

In the 2017 men’s and women’s world championships U23 games, FIVB proposes a new scoring system, which each set will be held to 15 points, and four sets out of seven to win. In addition, it is planned to cancel the technical time-outs and increase the number of replacements to eight without stopping the match necessarily. If this experiment shows good results, it should be adopted in competitions involving senior teams around the world until the end of the year.

The initiators of these changes by the group of coaches, which includes Brazilian Ze Roberto, American coach Karch Kiraly and Hugh McCutcheon and Italian coach Giovanni Guidetti. According to them, it will make volleyball more attractive for fans and television channels.
