FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour: Brazil gold medals sweep at home

Both Brazilian men’s and women’s team crowned the gold medal in FIVB World Tour Rio open 2017. Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda Santos Lisboa with their 2-1 (21-14, 13-21 and 15-13) win, clinched the FIVB World Tour Rio open Women’s gold medals in their first two international Beach Volleyball events highlighted by a podium-topping performance in the women’s finale at the US$20,000 Rio Open on 21 May.

Silver medal goes to the Canadian group Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana Pareds, they shared US$16,000 price money. The Czech team Barbora Hermannova and Marketa Slukova clinched the Bronze medal with USD$10,000 price money.

For the men’s game, The Brazilian pairs Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt defeated the Polish group Losiak and Kantor in 2:0 (25:23, 21:12) in the finale. The bronze medal goes to the Italian team Paolo and Daniele.

Following the Rio Open, the next stop on the FIVB World Tour will be May 31-June 4 in Moscow for a three-star event in the Russian capital.
