Kobe, Japan, May 14, 2017 – On the final day of the tournament, teams are all fighting for their final place of the tournament. The Russian powerful weapon, Natalia Goncharova succeeded to lead the team to carry on the momentum from previous match defeating the Brazilian counterpart Osasco Voleibol Clube with convincing results 3-1 (22:25, 25:19, 27:25, 25:18).
Both teams were close with back-to-back score in the starting set while the block from Osasco posed a tremendous threat to Dinamo Moscow. However, the Russian team came back quickly with higher concentration and adjustment where Captain Vetrova was called in to replace Pankova as setter. Osasco’s net defense was slightly more effective than that of the Russian club, gaining a total of 10 points. Nevertheless, Dinamo Middle Blocker, Maja Poljak’s killing block seemed to have come in a better timing alongside with the lethal attack duo Goncharova and De La Cruz.
Goncharova finished the match with 32 points scoring, also her all-time high in the tournament while Ana Beatriz Correa trailed behind with 23 points. As of the end of the match, Dinamo has three players topping the chart in different aspects of the individual statistics- Best Scorer: Natalia Goncharova; Best Blocker: Maja Poljak & Best Digger: Anna Malova.
