Pressure-free encounter, Serbia took the first place in the pool after winning the second ranking Italy in 4 sets- 3:1 (25-18, 25-19, 16-25, 27-25).
Two semi-finalists, Serbia and Italy let their lethal weapons, Mihajlovic (SER) and Egonu (ITA) rest and give a test to their second team players. Serbia took the first two sets with ease and Italy bounced back dramatically in the third set. Serbia eventually clinch the victory with better game plan execution, led by their top scorer, Tijana Boskovic (16 points).
Their opponents will be decided after the conclusion of tonight’s match between China and The Netherlands.
