Alexandra Pasynkova: I’m really looking forward to the start of the season, but I confess that I’m worried

Two-time European champion, Russian player Alexandra Pasynkova shared about the preparation for the season in her new team- Proton. In October 2016, Pasynkova suffered from an Achilles tendon rupture and was forced to miss the entire season.

“It’s great that I’m working with the team again! Before that, I work on rehabilitation after injury. To be honest, it’s not easy for me right now. However, when I look at the girls, it’s hard for them too. So this is a normal workflow. We all try to keep up.” said Pasynkova in the interview.

“After the operation, I was disconnected from volleyball. It was a temporary and necessary break, rather than for the self-preservation of my mind. Then I began to follow the games. And at the end of the season, when players started signing contracts with clubs, I was very worried if I would get an offer. Fortunately, it came, and it’s from an excellent club – VC Proton. It turned out that the coach knows me as a player and has given me confidence by proposing to try his hand this season in his team.” added Pasynkova.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the season, but I confess, I’m worried. After all, there are certain ideas about my game. But there was a break. And now I do not want to hit the dirt in the face. I will try very hard to prevent this from happening.” quoted Pasynkova in the official website of VC Proton.
