Due to financial mismanagement, 9-time champion of France, Paris Volley has been restricted from recruiting new players until the end of season and participating in the play-offs by the Commission d’aide et de contrôle des clubs professionnels (CACCP).
According to a French press, all these resulted from a disparity between the declared payroll (460,000 euros, the 8th in the Ligue A) and a payroll calculated by the CACCP, which the Paris Volley president Michel Rougeyron called “a bookkeeping problem”. He stated that the club would appeal the decision on the exclusion from the playoffs.
Paris Volley is currently ranking at no. 3 in Ligue A. Also, the club was downgraded administratively as a precautionary measure by CACCP.
