58 European teams set to participate in 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League

The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has just released a good news for the fans of European volleyball!! 184 clubs from 35 European countries are set to participate in the 2018 edition of the European Cups which many teams are making their first historic appearance in the CEV Volleyball Champions League.

The Drawing of Lots for the 2nd and 3rd Round of the CEV Volleyball Champions League as well as for all stages of the CEV Volleyball Cup and CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup will start on Wednesday. The teams participating in the 2nd and 3rd Round of the CEV Volleyball Champions League will be the first ones to be drawn at 11:00 am CET, before the CEV Volleyball Cup and CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup follow suit early in the afternoon. The list of teams participating in the 2018 edition of the CEV Volleyball Cup and CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup will be released later today.

2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men

The 32 teams participating in the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men are:

2017 Champion Zenit KAZAN of Russia – who set an all-time record by claiming their fifth crown in late April in Rome – will be trying to extend their rule in the competition, with Russian teams having swept the last six titles in a row.

Titleholders VakifBank ISTANBUL of Turkey – who won their third CL crown in late April in Treviso – will be starting their journey and title defence before the group stage of the competition since they ‘only’ finished third in the last edition of their national league.
